Stages of compositions

“Composition” is a game, you play it like a musician.

My series drew inspiration from Bauhaus design style. By recreating 2D-inspired compositions in a virtual 3D world, I tried to reimagine how we understand space. In “Transparency,” a snowman appears to be holding out a hand. They represent the ambiguous search for the self. When juxtaposed with shapes of varying transparency, the snowman navigates a complex reality in which the distinction between the virtual and the physical is obscured.  Filled with mirrors, sharp cones, and round shapes that embody both chaos and order, “Sharp vs Dull” and “Light vs Dark” mirror my emotions. Finally, “Static vs Motion” and “Light vs Heavy” represent the exterior world like a theatre and a mini LEGO city. As a Gen Z, digital spaces have transformed my interiority. I named this piece “stages of compositions” to pay tribute to Bauhaus, but also to highlight the progression of technology in our understanding of compositions and communications.
